The owners of a 1920's bungalow in the desirable Cherryhurst neighborhood of Houston sought to add much needed living space for their growing family. The 1,400 square foot addition includes the expansion of their existing galley kitchen to a large eat-in kitchen and a spacious master suite above a new two-car garage. As part of the program, the owners desired a large carport for off-street parking and outdoor entertaining. To offset the summer heat, the simple solution of a light well floods the carport with natural light while drawing warm air through the roof. The addition was completed summer of 2016.
